Introduction

Photosynthesis is a process which is fundamental to life on Earth. It converts solar energy into chemical energy at ambient temperature and at a scale which is capable of supporting the entire biosphere either dierectly or indirectly.

Currently at Bangor, we are studying the feasibility of extracting photosynthetic materials from plants and developing low cost solar cell devices which effectively mimic the way photosynthesis occurs but to create electrical rather than chemical energy.
